Spring Technology is currently recruiting for a contract SQL DBA, to join our client in Birmingham with ambitious growth plans, for an initial 3 month contract. This particular work will sit within a key datacentre migration programme, expected to run until the end of 2018, with a goal to provide support and maintenance to the SQL Server 2005-2016 estate. The client themselves are a leading financial services business, with a friendly working environment and a talented infrastructure team, hoping to add a SQL DBA to see out the project.

Our client is offering a 3 month initial contract, with a pay rate of £400-450 per day.

With the business running a key programme to migrate datacentres, our client is looking for a proactive SQL DBA to provide on-going support and maintenance for their SQL Server 2005 - 2016 estate. Whilst ensuring overall system health and performance, you will be lending a hand in fine tuning and optimising database performance, supporting processes using SSIS and TSQL. If you can aid in identifying issues and threats to the business continuity and disaster recovery plan, along with general security in line with PCI-DSS standards, this will be a great fit for you.

Essential Skills:

* Strong background in SQL database administration, between 2005-2016

* Experience with SQL 2014 or higher, SQL Server Reporting Services and TSQL

* Knowledge of ETL and SSIS packages

* Exposure to Oracle

* Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with business analysts and wider project teams, on a range of infrastructure issues
