Project Manager - Plymouth

A market-leading organisation is currently recruiting for a Project Manager join the business. The company is highly regarded for its employee recognition and vital position in today's market place. The Departmental aim is to double our revenue to become a £500M per annum business, transforming our organisation so that it is fit for future challenges. We will modernise our facilities and working practises, improving efficiencies.

This is a thriving Business Unit with a number of long term MoD Availability contracts for Weapons and Holistic Equipment Support Strategy (HESS) Equipment's, i.e. Pumps, Motors and Galley/Laundry Equipment etc.

Over the next 2 years the organisation will be bidding for numerous opportunities that will expand our portfolio and significantly increase the pipeline for many years to come.

The main responsibilities of the role are as follows -

* The Project Manager will have overall responsibility for the successful delivery of an availability contract. This will require interface with all stakeholders directly linked to the Project both internally and with the MoD.

* The Project Manager will direct all functional aspects of the team, will have direct managerial responsibility for some, but will liaise with functional leads within the matrix organisation for the others.

* The role will be multi-faceted, to deliver the existing contract through achieving contractual KPI's, whilst striving to incorporate innovation making the contract sustainable and attractive to the customer for the future.

* Customer interaction, relationship and satisfaction are critical to the role, so the successful candidate will possess diplomacy and tact, whilst ensuring the best outcome for the company.

* Contract resources are spread across two sites, Rosyth and Devonport. The successful candidate will be required to work between both sites as well as attend meetings at MoD and contractors premises.

The successful candidate will display the following skills, experience and qualifications:

* The post holder will have significant experience of MoD and Royal Navy operations or support.

* The Project Manager must possess good organisational skills and be computer literate, with a comprehensive working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Excel and internal operating systems (IFS).

* The Project Manager will have the ability to lead and manage a team with a diverse range of specialisms including, technical, inventory and customers services.

The post holder should have experience of the following:-

* Financial management.

* Risk Management.

* Inventory Management

* Customer service

* Supply Chain Strategy

* Business Management Systems

* The post holder is expected to set high professional standards for the other functions in the Business, demonstrating tact, diplomacy and a spirit of collaboration.

* Member of the Association of Project Managers or similar.

* Experienced and time served tradesman with an ONC in electrical engineering.
