Devops Practitioner- London- 3 Months- £450-500 per day

My clients are looking for an experienced devops practitioner to work with the application delivery teams to deliver AWS applications according to demanding business schedules. The Devops Practitioner will be comfortable with infrastructure as code and be able to provide consultancy on AWS knowledge, representing that in code reviews/pull requests.

The Devops Practitioner will implement iterative improvements to expand the operational capabilities at all stages of the application lifecycle. The successful candidate will be expected to understand, build and operate the full application stack. An understanding of the central tenets of cloud security are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

* Delivery team devops practitioner

* Application delivery, support and monitoring

* AWS consultancy for cloud native applications

* Cloud formation review

* RDS Database administration

* Iterative improvement

* Security best practice

Managing the AWS Cloud Platform

* Responsible for maintaining and improving our Cloud hosted applications and services

* Continuous improvement, orchestration and automation of hosted services

* Leveraging AWS best practices with multiple AWS accounts

Technical Skills:

* Proven experience deploying and supporting multiple AWS accounts to best practice

* Experience using, monitoring and supporting EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, SQS, SNS, Elastic Beanstalk, VPC's

* Solid automation, orchestration and scripting

* Git

* Windows 2012/2016 Server

* Configuration management tooling - Chef/Puppet/Ansible

* Scripting in powershell/python

* Proven experience with Cloud Formation, Power Shell and cloud technologies

* Proven web hosting experience in an enterprise environment - with a focus on AWS

* Proven experience of general infrastructure in medium / large scale enterprise environments

* Packer

* Working with CI/CD pipelines

This role is a Systems Engineer/Devops Practitioner position. It is an excting contract and my client would like to hire a contractor within a week, with the view of starting ASAP.
