Environmental, Health and Safety Advisor

FTSE 250 Organization

Harrogate (UK and International Travel)

I am recruiting on behalf of a FTSE 250 Engineering Organization and a true market leader within engineering support services. This role sits within a division that provides engineering support to military communications across a number of critical site both in the UK and abroad.

The EHS advisor is responsible for completing internal and external audits across these sites whilst also providing support to site managers for all EHS issues. You will travel on average once per month and cover a wide range of interesting sites including Cypress and The Ascension Islands.

Main Purpose of Role

* Manage Environmental, Health & Safety activities within the production aspects of the business at its International I National locations.

* Plan and undertake audits to ensure compliance with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001/ IS0 45001 standards.

* Proactively assist with the close of actions recorded in audits and accident investigations and share information across relevant business streams.

* Review specifications, reports, quality plans and other contract or business related documents to ensure compliance with contracted and legislative requirements.

* Review processes and systems with a view to continual improvement.

* Undertake workplace H&S and Environmental inspections across the sites in the UK to enable compliance with corporate, UK and applicable overseas legislation, and regulatory requirements.

* Collate and report statistics to management regarding performance.

* Carry out H&S investigations suitable for submission to HSE, Environment Agency and senior management.

* Review and update as appropriate the various management systems.

* Ensure that proper records, registers and filing systems, required by law, are created and maintained.

* Keep up to date with continuing developments in matters of environmental, health & safety and disseminate any appropriate information or instructions in an orderly fashion.

* Liaise with customers, contractors and subcontractors and outside bodies such as the Environment Agency, HSE, on matters related to environmental, health & safety.

* Assist Station Managers in actively promoting environmental, health and safety awareness and response.

Requirements:

1 NEBOSH certificate

2 Qualified Auditor

3 Excellent interpersonal skills

4 Able and willing to travel
