A market leader in the malting industry based in Scotland is seeking a Lead Engineer for one of their specialist Malt processing sites. The company are sole suppliers to major names in the alcoholic beverage sector such as AB Inbev, SAB Miller, Carlsberg, Heineken (and a number of whiskey distilleries) with a turnover in excess of £300 million and 800 staff globally.As a Lead Engineer your duties will include:
Focussing on leading a small multi-skilled engineering and maintenance team.Providing a proactive service to minimise down-time and maximise efficiencies in the manufacturing process including increased output and yield.Having a multi-skilled engineering background with an electrical bias. Being accountable for supervising a small multi-disciplined engineering team.Developing the engineering function and focus to deliver a PPM programme and a proactive approach to the management of engineering assets on site.Managing and maintaining the asset management software: Maximo.Managing budgets for engineering spend and engineering CAPEX projects.Minimising downtime and maximise efficiency in the process.Ensuring compliance to: Statutory and legal obligations, Food safety requirements and quality and environmental standards.Maintaining appropriate records as required to demonstrate compliance. To be a successful Lead Engineer you will have the following skills and experience:
Experience in an engineering setting supervising a small team.Experience in a food or ingredients manufacturing facility or similar environment is favourable.Being part of the site team, the role is also very much hands on and the post holder will be working alongside other engineers.Responding to engineering issues and be involved in executing the PPM programme. The Lead Engineer will be working Monday to Friday day shifts.
In return, the Lead Engineer will receive a salary of £30,000 - £35,000 per annum plus bonus scheme.
