1st Line Support Engineer

The Position

Due to growth we are looking for a 1st Line Support Engineer to come and join our busy IT department. Based at our head office in Loughton, this is a fantastic opportunity for somebody looking to kick start a career in the IT industry. Working within a team of six, you will be responsible for logging calls and working alongside the IT team in solving IT related issues and supporting on various projects.

Duties include;

- Log all calls in the service desk software and maintain the priority levels
- Escalate issues to 2nd line and 3rd line support engineers when required
- Patching network cables for computers, printers and phones
- Creating user accounts and managing mailbox and phone system administration
- Maintaining server security and escalating issues as appropriate
- Liaising with 3rd party suppliers
- Working pro-actively to trouble shoot problems before they arise
- Provide application support to programs such as MS office, sage and other installed and published application
- Answering helpdesk calls and resolving any issues where possible
- Creating purchase order requisitions for IT hardware and software
- Trouble shooting and resolving simple network issues alone or with supervision
- Provide support for users during desk and office moves

It is important that the successful candidate has good experience and understanding of;

- Windows Server 2008/2012
- Citrix XenApp
- Xen Desktop
- Exchange 2010/2013 administration
- VMware
- vSphere
- Networking
- IP phone system
- Excellent customer service skills
