Excellent opportunity for an engineer with experience of fibre optic cables to join an industry leading global organisation in an interesting and varied position with a great benefits package.

This company are an impressive global powerhouse and through impressive investment and growth they are now looking to add an Applications Engineer to their busy team in Swindon.

In this role you will support fibre optic cables sales for new and existing customers through dealing with technical specifications for design and the day to day upkeep of the department.

The ideal candidate will come from an engineering or scientific background with previous experience in a similar role.

The role:

*Designing fibre optic cables to customer specifications

*Mechanical calculations

*Dealing with clients and sales staff

*Test work

The person:

*An understanding of engineering or scientific principles

*Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or scientific qualifications

*Design experience - CAD or SolidWorks beneficial

*Any experience with fibre optic cables highly beneficial
