DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Design & Development Undertake the conceptual development of the electrical control and drive systems and promote ideas within the bounds of the specification.

* Review the systems design and specify the most appropriate control and drive equipment.

* Develop and engineer the system in accordance with the agreed framework and modules of the requirement.

* Produce electrical schematic diagrams, equipment layouts, BOM and cables schedules using approved methods and agreed CAD system. Ensure the produced technical documentation complies with national and, where appropriate, international standards.

Demonstration & Test

* Test control and drive systems against the functional specifications and document results and non-compliance actions.

* Demonstrate verification and compliance following modifications of the electrical design and PLC programs.

* Assist the development of system design procedures and standardised ways of operating.

* Prepare systems for demonstration, authorisation & approval both internally via the Project Manager and by the Customer.

Maintenance & Backup

* Maintain all design files in good order and ensure the data is securely backed up along with all associated documentation.

* Assist developing and maintain company Electrical, Electronic & Software standards.

* Provide the required level of post contract support to the Client in relation to post design support.

Change Control

* Implement electrical design & PLC software changes control procedures.

Value Engineering & Budget Control

* Manage design & development within the budget and the programme parameters of the contract.

* Instigate value engineered and innovative electronic design solutions.

Project & Production Controls

* Specify all related to electrical design components within the project.

* Liase and communicate with Sub Contractors or Suppliers to ensure the services and supplied components meet with the requirements of the project.

* Attend project and progress reviews to identify pertinent issues and required actions.

* Where required provide a technical level of supervision to the engineering staff engaged in the build, testing and installation of the equipment.

* Work within the budgetary and programme requirements of the project.Achieve the technical & commercial objectives of the contract, including budget and delivery targets.

* Assist the Project Manager, as requested, to support the Company's activities.

* Provide the necessary information and specifications to ensure estimates are produced in a detailed and accurate fashion.

* Review and check estimates and provide appropriate comments to ensure estimates are commercially competitive.

* Maintain and update the contract file for all contracts under your control ensuring all documentation is recorded and quality procedures adhered to.

* Provide the necessary information, brief and input to undertake conceptual and detail design.

* Undertake and progress conceptual and detail design.

* Undertake design calculations and appropriate engineering checks to ensure fit for purpose design.

* Procure Purchase Requisitions specifying, in appropriate detail, parts and material requirements.

* Identify additional or modified requirements of the Client and provide further proposals and estimated costs.

* Identify variation claims and obtain Client acceptance with the use of collated claim information and costs.

* Assist pre-planning a contract when a works order is authorised.

* Assist the Production Department and give any advice, technical support, information or guidance required to produce work for production.

* Monitor and review the contract in achieving consistency between estimate set budgets and actual build.

* Undertake all duties necessary when acting in the capacity of Project Engineer.

* Attend project and progress reviews to identify pertinent issues and required actions.

General

* Devote the necessary time and attention to satisfactorily undertake the duties of Senior Electrical Design Engineer

* Work in accordance with the Health and Safety Policy and statutory regulations.

* Work in accordance with the Company Quality Assurance System and Company Procedures.

* Ensure any staff under your control are adequately supervised and kept fully aware of Company's objectives, policy decisions and procedures.

* Undertake any other duties as identified from time to time by the Company Directors.
