Software Engineer (Java) required for leading global security company on an initial 6 month contract based in London. The successful Software Engineer must have prior Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and associated tools such as Confluence, Jira and Wiki’s and be able to hold to maintain a UK security/government clearance. We are looking for the successful Software Engineer to have experience in Java and the use of object oriented design

Working from the London Office, this opportunity is initially a 6 month contract with a potential extension based on funding. As part of an experienced development team, you will be supporting the development and maintenance of existing applications as per client requests.

Successful candidates will be asked to support the team in Scrum/Agile development on existing and new software technologies and supporting the pursuit of new business.

Person Specification:

The ideal candidate:

** Has experience of designing, developing and testing innovative software solutions.

** Has experience of full stack development with specific skills in Java, React and/or Continuous Integration.

** Will be keen to learn a broad range of front-end, back-end and CI technologies.

Essential Criteria:

** Experience in software development using Java or JavaScript (specifically using the React framework).

** Experience in design, development, test and integration of quality software.

** Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and associated tools such as Confluence, Jira and Git.

** Experience of working in a software delivery team.

** Experience with object oriented design and design patterns.

** Knowledge of database technologies; such as RDMS and NoSQL.

Desirable Criteria:

** JavaScript and Full Stack development experience.

** UX design experience.

Additional information:

** Applicants must be able to hold and maintain UK Government clearances
