The Cloud Architect is a crucial role in the development of Digital Bank's cloud environment. The successful applicant will work closely with the wider DB technology team, and will be instrumental in the design and implementation of the platform to deliver a world class cloud environment.

Responsibilities:

The applicant will be responsible for the technical design of DB's cloud platform architecture including; security and storage, compliance, DevOps, data ingestion and development, and overall platform optimisation.

Key Accountabilities

* Responsible for target infrastructure, application and DevOps solutions.

* Aid in architecting scalable, secure and reliable solutions following AWS 'Well-Architected' framework.

* Develop technical content, such as blog posts, sample code and demos, to assist in solving technical problems and reduce time-to-market.

* Work with our stakeholders to translate the business vision into a set of technical capabilities and solution designs

* Evaluate costs, benefits, risks and opportunities of new technology solutions and initiatives required to deliver our business and technology strategies.

* You will be expected to code and create POCs for new solutions

Basic Experience

* Be able to demonstrate advanced knowledge and experience in the design and implementation of complex IT solutions (including scalable cloud-based solutions and micro-services architectures).

* Deep understanding of technologies in the open source developer ecosystem, including IDEs, developer frameworks, continuous integration platforms

* Familiarity with the DevOps philosophy, practices, and tools.

* Knowledge of the latest developments in NoSQL databases, Containers and Real time analytics solutions.

* Good understanding of networking and security technology solutions.

* Excellent communications and presentation skills.

* Strong interpersonal skills, with proven experience of working in an agile team.

Preferred

* Degree in computer science, MIS, engineering or equivalent technical degree

* AWS Solution Architect Certificates; Associates, Developer, Professional

* Experience with AWS.

* Knowledge of multiple, modern development languages.

* A good recent technical knowledge of continuous build, configuration and deployment management tools (e.g. Jenkins 2, Chef, Terraform, Docker, etc.)
