Location: North Manchester

Salary: £35000 - £60000 per annum

Job type: Permanent

Two positions available:

Senior Developer: £35,000-42,000 per annnum (Agile, .Net and C#, 8+ years experience)

Lead Developer: £55,000 - £60,000 per annum (Agile, .Net and C#, 3+ years experience)

The Lead Developer role is a knowledgeable and experienced technical expert development position, responsible for the development of applications across self-managed teams; for leading on initiatives and improvements and innovation across those teams, for coaching and for driving standards across teams.

The post holder is a senior member of the leadership team within the development department. They are responsible for contributing towards the strategic direction of the engineering service in terms of its definition and realisation.

The post holder has the responsibility for leading a team of software developers and the software applications they develop. They are responsible for the software engineering output from themselves and their team.

The post holder will be expected to work with little supervision and will have the authority for a high degree of latitude in decision making within their team. They will be expected to make decisions within the scope of their role and will be held accountable for the outcomes of these.

They will use their significant experience of software development principles, patterns, practices and processes in the day-to-day tactical execution of their duty.

Skills & experience:

Possess a degree level qualification or equivalent in software engineering or related discipline.

Practiced agile software engineering methodologies and processes with a high level of experience defining and implementing software through the software development lifecycle.

8+ years experience in the software development industry.

Gained professional qualifications around technology and process to fulfil the role (e.g. Microsoft Certification).

Expert technical design and strong architectural skills and experience.

Expert level programming skills and competence in relevant languages and technologies (e.g. .Net, C#, SQL Server, BI, WFP, WCF, Delphi, Messaging).

Excellent communication and leadership skills.

In depth knowledge of development tools and technologies.

Good commercial understanding of business strategy and its impact on decision making.
