Our Public Sector client based in Manchester is currently recruiting for a QA Tester. The candidate will be working on a Smart Ticketing Programme.

The successful candidate will carry out Manual testing on site at various points throughout Manchester. Any experience with ITSO and Smart Ticketing platforms within the Transport sector will be advantageous.

Role Profile

* Design, develop, execute and maintain manual and automated test plans and scripts

* Development of test databases and environments

* Designing functional test cases for UAT

* Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, developers and others as appropriate

* Manage and escalate testing issues internally within the client to defined and agreed procedures

* Attend sprint-planning sessions

* Attend daily stand ups

* Undertake testing throughout sprints

* Undertake code reviews with developers

* Attend sprint retrospectives and ensure appropriate feedback is given

* Follow and implement the client testing standards

* Monitor and revise test management processes as required

* Follow effective and efficient test reporting processes and procedures

* Monitor and help revise testing processes as required

* Ensure third party suppliers testing procedures are suitable and monitor that these are followed

* Manage significant and unpredictable variation in own workload

* Ensure key deadlines are achieved in spite of variation in workload

* Prioritise and escalate as required to ensure key requirements achieved in spite of workload variations

* Develop high quality written outputs for use by both the client internally and externally with suppliers

* Output must be evidential based and capable of being used in any legal challenge resulting from Testing issues

Key Skills / Experience

* Experience developing tests for functional and regression testing that include manual, automated, performance and ad-hoc testing

* Ability to handle complex data and produce concise, unambiguous reporting

* Experience working in projects where Test Driven Development, pair programming and refactoring principles were applied

* Experience of working within both Agile and Waterfall based delivery methodologies

* Knowledge of web standards and experience testing REST based APIs

* Knowledge / Experience with Smart Ticketing - e.g. ITSO
