My client is a Manchester City Centre based E-Commerce company with a global presence. They specialise in providing their customers with flexible solutions across the globe utilising leading technology to ensure 1st class service and satisfaction.
The Role
The client is looking for a motivated and tech passionate individual to join their Database Team as a an MySQL DBA.
Main responsibilities will be to
* Working with multi-disciplined engineering teams in a Devops / Agile environment
* Supporting the delivery of a core platform that facilitates continuous changes to digital products
* Working within the team of locally based and remote DBAs, defining working standards and practices and providing feedback to global technology teams
* Actively monitoring the performance and stability of the database estate on a global basis, using your analytical skills to anticipate future problems and resolve them effectively
* Propose, develop and implement complex systems and architecture as well as automation/orchestration.
* Troubleshooting and resolving problems with other systems administrators, database admins, engineers
* Have fun
Skills we are looking for
* Experience in a similar type role
* Understanding of managing large scale and complex infrastructure on transactional websites would be advantageous
* Interested in systems automation and systems programming / scripting
* A proactive can-do attitude
* Technical exposure in the following;
* MySQL experience
* Linux experience
* Configuration management and orchestration with Puppet, Chef or similar technology
* Understanding of TCP/IP networking
