About CQC

Here at the CQC, we make sure health and social care services provide people with effective, compassionate and high quality care. We monitor, inspect and regulate services to ensure they meet fundamental standards of quality and safety and we publish what we find to help people choose care. Join our committed team, and you will have the chance to make the world a better place for patients.

About the role

Take this crucial role within our Information and Strategy Directorate, and your work will inform inspections to ensure we can all receive better health and social care. You will oversee the development, maintenance and updating of the programmes and databases that support our information and analysis activities. Able to hit the ground running, you will provide leadership, coaching and support to a team of Analyst Programmers while undertaking complex analysis. We’ll also look to you to assess the potential of new and existing datasets in relation to our information strategy.

About you

Ready to make a difference, you will be keen to apply your significant experience of large, patient-level datasets such as Hospital Episode Statistics (HES) and Mental Health Services Data Set (MHSDSS). You’ll have gained this knowledge working in an information or programming role within the NHS, social care or relevant organisation. You’ll add to this a flair for SQL programming together with knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access or VBA. Your excellent networking and analytical skills and ability to translate data into useful information will make you stand out from the crowd.
