PRINCIPLE AGILE LEAD - DVLA

Permanent positions based in Swansea - £46,596 to £53,700

The role may attract an RRA allowance of up to £5k (depending on skills and experience)

You will be responsible for implementing and evolving a robust agile delivery capability, which includes:-

* Ensuring the effective, efficient, best practice adoption of Agile practices and providing leadership to squads, portfolios, capability, Directorate, Agency and across Government. Cementing DVLAs status as a Centre of Excellence in Agile adoption and leadership.

* Delivering and leading the agile capability to meet the needs of individuals, the business and Government, such as foundational skills training, topic-specific workshops, embedded coaching, spot-coaching, team start-up or re-start consulting. These will change and evolve over time as the needs of the teams and organisation change.

* Leading the mind-set changes and belief re-sets required to effect the desired business results.

* Aligning staff to requirements based on the needs of the team/organisation and the level of skill available.

* Establishing and leading Agile Communities of Practice (CoP) within DVLA and ensuring they increase organisational agile capability through skills practice as well as knowledge acquisition.

* Managing and leading the internal Agile Coaching Community and championing and driving involvement in external Agile and Coaching communities.

* Devising and implementing a training strategy matched to the needs of the Agile Coaching team, Agile Delivery managers and cross directorate requirements to support ITS and wider DVLA.

* Continuous assessment and evaluation of the Agile Coaching, Delivery and the IT Services capability through clear alignment with overall organisational business goals, strategic understanding and planning and by ensuring skills are kept relevant, up to date and appropriate to organisational needs.

* Act as a mentor at all grades across DVLA and wider Government to enhance internal agile skills and knowledge, identifying and providing targeted teaching, mentoring and professional coaching in-the-moment, when it can have the greatest chance of accelerating the mentee's learning or resetting core beliefs.

* You will be confident with an ability to listen carefully, challenge the status quo, and advocate for digital delivery in a clear and constructive manner

* You will have a passion for growing and developing high performance unified development squads that can deliver modern, scaleable systems.

Technical Skill/Experience

* Experience in delivering digital products and services

* Proven experience using agile methodologies

* Proven experience balancing multiple priorities and dealing with ambiguity

* Sound understanding of the digital landscape

* Experience in matrix-managing multi-disciplinary teams
