Project Overview
The project is for the deployment of new retail Point of Sale (EPOS) terminals. The technical solution is complete and pilots have been completed at 4 stores. The EPOS Rollout Project is the implementation to over 200 stores across the UK.
The implementation will take place from August to November 2018 with an expected peak of 28 stores per week.
Implementation Management Team
The Implementation Management team of the senior project manager and 3 project leads is responsible for managing the rollout, coordination with stores, site readiness, overseeing the implementation and completing the early life support process to sign-off the store cutover.
The store will be split between the 3 Project Leads, each taking responsibility for managing implementation at their assigned group of stores. The Project Leads will work together in a shift/rota pattern to provide cover for the preparation, cutover and support activities.
The Implementation management team will work remotely from site, in-store activities will be completed by the technical implementation team.

The Implementation Management team will be split to cover the following working periods
Period Hours Impl/ Management Handover
Day (Prep) 9am to 5pm Handover 12am to 1pm
Eve (Prep/Support) 12am to 8pm Handover 7pm to 8pm
Night (Cutover) 7pm to 3am Handover report at close
With the allocation of stores, each project lead is likely to be required to work one week for each period, ie. 1 cutover week in 3. Cutovers will take place Sunday to Wednesday each week.
Location
The project team will be based in Merseyside. Core hours will be agreed with the EPOS Project Manager to enable some remote working during preparation and support periods. Cutover will be managed remotely from the store, either from home or local Capgemini office.
Detailed Responsibilities
Under the direction and day to day control of the Rollout EPOS senior project manager
* Responsible for the planning, management and delivery of the rollout in stores for the assigned cutover weeks
* Manage all aspects of the E2E systems release process for stores rolled out during their lead weeks.
* Manage all implementation resources and 3rd parties during their lead weeks.
* Point of contact and escalation between all Business and IT teams involved in the implementation plan during their lead weeks
* Reports progress of the rollout plan to the EPOS Roll Project Manager
* Ensure that the detailed cutover plan is produced with input from IT and Business teams for their lead weeks
* Responsible for Cutover communication and preparation in their lead weeks
* Responsible for the planning, management and delivery into support for stores rolled out in their lead weeks.
* Responsible for managing the process of gathering the supporting evidence against acceptance measures; and chair the appropriate quality gate meetings to agree handover for their lead weeks
* Manages formal transition of the service from ELS to BAU/Live service operations for stores rolled out in their lead weeks.
* Monitors incidents and problems and undertakes problem management during Production implementation and ELS for their lead weeks
