Automotive System Engineer for Functional Safety Engineer ISO 26262

(No previous ISO 26262 experience required)

My client is currently searching for a Functional Safety Engineer and is offering a great opportunity to an Automotive System Engineer to become a Functional Safety expert in ISO 26262. My client is a well-established automotive company based in East Anglia, employing more than 2300 people and providing engineering services worldwide. A key player in the development of vehicles with full facilities to approve prototypes of different vehicles.

As a system engineer you will be involved in the project life-cycle capturing and managing requirements working on automotive systems. You will be provided with significant training and development to grow in to a Functional Safety Engineer where necessary.

Essential:

* Over 3 years automotive experience in System Engineering

* Interest in moving in to a Functional Safety Engineer Role

* A good understanding of the function of electronic systems in car and truck applications

* Experience of formal development life cycles including writing requirements

* Excellent communication skills including directly with clients. An ability to communicate both firmly and diplomatically

Desirable:

* Basic understanding of Functional Safety concepts and be able to derive ASIL levels from Systems to subsystems/components, ISO 26262

* FMEA, FTA, HARA, HAZOP

* ISO 26262 experience at the concept or Systems level
