The Role
You will be working as part of an elite agile software engineering team that supports:
·Broadband for millions of Consumer & Business customers
·The Media and Broadcast platform which carries live TV channels
·The device management platform which configures millions of home hubs
·As a key member of the agile DevOps team you will be responsible for the architecture, design, development, testing, deployment and support of the systems
·Deliver critical systems safely and responsively
Technical Skills
The skills listed below are examples of skills currently used, but the ability to pick up new technologies is more important than a specific skill:
Languages:
Essential: Java
Desirable: Ruby, Go, Perl, others as required
Practices:
TDD, Agile experience, Continuous integration, Continuous deployment, DevOps, automation
Technologies:
Amazon AWS, Software defined networking, Docker, Linux admin, Ansible
Experience
·Minimum 5+ years software engineering experience
·Solid understanding of TDD, shared code ownership, pairing, agile principles
·Minimum 3+ years of agile, devops working environment
·Capable of delivering rapid agile change while the team work at a sustainable pace
·Working closely with customers to deliver reliable/maintainable solutions
·Eye for detail and passionate about building reliable and well-tested systems
·Proactive approach to troubleshooting, actively seeking out problems & resolving
·Proven ability to learn new technologies quickly
·Understanding of the systems that underpins Broadband
