Are you a Big Data Engineer looking to secure your next contract in London? Do you have strong communications and thrive in client-facing opportunities?
Our client has a unique opportunity for an experienced Big Data Engineer - lasting a minimum of 6 months and extending for at least 3 months beyond that.
The Data Engineer will play a pivotal role in the development of the company's products, supporting systems and infrastructure. The role will require the Data Engineer to develop and maintain database and web applications that are key to our business.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop, Support and maintain the database and web applications: Responsibilities include;
* Provide support for operational systems, databases and infrastructure
* Understand existing systems, data, databases and infrastructure
* Maintain and Develop internal C#.Net and PHP web applications
* Identify opportunities to improve services, processes, mitigation of risks, cost and efficiency
* Own and work on small ad-hoc development requests
* Provide highly analytical insight in order to be able to trouble shoot issues and solve problems
* Provide operational day to day reporting and support to the business as required
* Liaise with the business to gather initial requirements for projects
* Work with the development team in all future projects
SKILLS
* 2 years + working within a development team, and understanding of development life-cycle
* Computer Science degree or equivalent
* A solid understanding of database design and data manipulation
* Good interpersonal and team working skills
* Strong analytical competence with and communication skills
* Ability to create reports for senior management on findings
Highly Desired Skills
* 2 years + experience within a Back-end Developer role with experience with C#.Net and PHP
* Understanding of the Web, including RESTful API design
