Junior MS SQL Database Administrator (DBA) - Reading

An organisation in the Berkshire area is seeking a motivated and talented Junior DBA with excellent client-facing skills to join their organisation as they go from strength to strength. The company are serious about fostering talent and being the best in their field, and contribute heavily into the SQL Community.

As a member of the Managed Services team, you'll be working on a number of different issues in SQL Server ranging from simple to complex, with a focus on delivering a high-end, consistent service to a varied client base. Technologies you'll get to work with can include SQL Server versions 2005-2017 and Azure, as well as pre-release versions of the product, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS and Azure PaaS technologies such as Azure SQL Data Warehouse, Data Factory and Data Lake.

Key skills include:

- Experience in SQL Querying and troubleshooting, including creating complex queries from scratch

- Experience working in a customer-facing environment such as a Service Desk or Managed Services team

- Motivation and commitment to improving skills in a short period

- Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English for dealing with clients.

This is a permanent role offering the successful candidate a salary of £27-35,000 plus an on-call allowance of £8,000 per annum, in addition to attractive benefits and a great office environment. Industry-leading training will be on offer for the successful candidate, with the aim of making you a SQL Server expert within a relatively short timeframe. The role will be office-based in Berkshire, readily commutable from around the county and an hour from Waterloo.
