Assistant Commercial Manager required to work in the defence sector by one the UK's largest Engineering Support Services Organisations based in Andover. The successful candidate will be working for the Head of Commercial along with supporting the wider commercial team.

You will be responsible for management of commercial issues to ensure commercial and financial interests of the company are optimised.

Location: Andover

Salary: £40,000 - £55,000

Contract Type: Permanent

What you will be doing:

* To support and manage where appropriate commercial discussions and negotiations with customers and support the Supply Chain function in strategic procurement activities.

* To provide support and guidance to the business regarding terms and conditions, risk, pricing, and all other commercial issues as well as review and assurance of financial statements.

* To support and/or lead change or growth opportunities across the Defence Business Unit

* To challenge and support lines of business and bid teams in respect of project controls, variations, risk management, progress, delivery and acceptance and cost forecasting and trade controls.

Key Skills and Qualifications Required:

* Commercial experience gained specifically in negotiations with customers on contract clauses and pricing.

* Significant commercial contribution in large projects

* Demonstrable experience in a commercial background in multi-disciplinary environments covering the contract life cycle

* Degree qualified (or equivalent relevant vocational qualification) in Engineering, Business, Law, Accountancy
