Java Developer / 3 month Contract / £400 - £480 per day / Edinburgh

My Client developing a next generation payment system, which can be directly integrated into customers apps and servers, providing new innovative features to enable their customers to create unique solutions to the payment problem.

I am looking for a Contract Java Developer to work within the existing team to develop the Payment system, bringing expertise in key technical areas such as Java, and enterprise level micro-service implementation.

The successful Java Engineer will have excellent written, oral communication and interpersonal skills.

Roles and responsibilities include:

* Contribute to the Design and development of Bridge

* Contribute in all phases of the development life-cycle

* Write well designed, testable, efficient, documented code

* Ensure designs are in compliance with provided specifications

* Prepare and produce releases of software components

* Support continuous improvement

Skills:

* 3+ Years of Proven hands-on Java Software Development experience

* Object Oriented analysis and design using common design patterns

* The Spring Framework

* JUnit testing

* Experience of micro service stack communications using REST/HTTP and gRPC

* Docker/Kubernetes

* PostGres experience with knowledge of JPA/Hibernate and Redis/Memcached.

* Jira/Atlassian and Bitbucket

* Agile/Scrum Project development

* Test-driven development

The individual should be delivery focused and flexible in the work undertaken, they should be willing to learn new technologies and languages.

They should have the ability to work in within a project team as well as on occasion individually. They should be comfortable in presenting their ideas to peers, management and clients.

The role is initially 3 months with a very high possibility of extending further. Day rate on offer is between £400 - £480 per day.
