Position: Java Developer (Contract)
Rate: £400 - £500 per day
Length of contract: 6 Months
When do they want people to start: ASAP up to 4 weeks' time
Location: Sheffield (Potential to work fully remote if needed)
My client are looking for a Java developer to supplement an existing team. They are a nice bunch of people and would like to bring on someone who can really share their knowledge and experience and add value to their team. They are looking for a Java developer who is personable and approachable and is passionate about what they do.
As a Java Developer, you will enter a high-energy and tech savvy world. My client are looking for someone who possess a strong creative problem-solving ability, is a great communicator and thrives in fast-paced, client focused environment.
As a Developer, you can expect to:
* Be a trusted advisor: Understand the requirements and effectively communicate features and limitations in the context of design and development decisions
* Help manage the design and development process, drive decisions, and coordinate efforts with fellow teammates
* Designs applications that are in compliance with specifications & standards
* Develop new applications and further develop current software
* Support users by developing documentation and assistance tools
* Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and new technologies and presenting these for architectural review
What we are looking for:
* 5+ years of experience with Java
* 3+ years of experience with Spring frameworks
* 3+ years of experience with NoSQL, hibernate and SQL
* Experience with Agile Software Methodology
* Experience with REST, SOAP Web service and API development
* Knowledge of Java IDEs and source control management
* Skilled with translating requirements into clean, efficient, quality code
* Object oriented analysis and design using common design patterns
* Excellent communication, organizational and problem solving skills
* Enjoy working collaboratively with a team, while also possessing a strong independent work ethic
* Desire to learn new skills and grow competencies
* Someone who has worked in a Devops environment
You will get the opportunity to work with:
* Docker in place (Looking to migrate to Kubernetes)
* AWS
* Node JS
* Kafka
