About the Team - Global Technology Infrastructure

Global Technology Infrastructure design, develop and operate the Technology systems and services which underpin Tesco's ability to serve customers and support colleagues. Our responsibilities span technologies across Data Centres, Offices, Stores and Distribution Centres and the global network which connects them. The global team is distributed across the UK, Central Europe, India and Asia.

The Role - Head of Programmes & Planning

As Head of Programmes and Planning, you will report directly to the Director of Global Technology Infrastructure. You will be responsible for all strategic planning activities across the department, including management of inter-dependencies between cross-functional transformation programmes. You will drive simplification, standardisation and efficiency through the creation of a common approach to global planning and work to integrate Infrastructure's delivery initiatives within broader Technology plan. You will directly manage a team of c. 20 programme, project and business analyst resources.

Main Responsibilities

Your responsibilities:

1 Strategic planning and execution

* Strategic planning

* Working with infrastructure leadership team to drive the strategy across a portfolio of programme deliverables

* Map complex inter-dependencies and milestones across all our delivery activities

* Establish clear governance for infra strategy, providing teams with clear ways of working, clarify of direction and progress against plans

* Delivery management

* Directly lead the Delivery team to enable delivery of Infrastructure activities into Technology and the wider Tesco.

* Governance and management reporting

Lead the Infra PMO team and work with Finance, People and the Office of CTO to:

* Integrate the infrastructure plan into overall Technology plan and broader business

* Produce management reporting on headcount and overall budgets (capex and opex), finance administration for SOWs, POs etc.

1 People, Culture & Global Organisation

* Develop a plan for people and organisation with the Infra leadership team, Office of CTO and People partner.

* Develop an approach to global ways of working, delivery, resourcing strategies, skill sets, resource profiles, training, hiring, operating model etc.

* Manage this plan on behalf of the Infra leadership team. You will be responsible for execution by driving and facilitating activities which enable the plan to be realised.

1 Stakeholder engagement and communications

* Develop and facilitate stakeholder engagement and communications strategy for infrastructure and integrate it into the Tech comms strategy and broader business

* Shape and facilitate delivery of communication plan which cascades the Infra vision, direction and progress to our team through events, materials etc -whatever medium appropriate.

Ideal Candidate

Your Skills:

* People leadership skills

* Influencing and stakeholder management skills

* Experience of managing cross-functional strategic plans

* Experience in strategy-related or communication functions is a plus

* Experience of delivering projects/ programmes

* Line management experience (small-to-medium sized teams).

* Communication skills

* Financial acumen

* Organisation skills (including time management)

* MS Office
