RF Systems Engineer - Wireless Communications - Reading

A unique opportunity has come up for an RF systems engineer to join a leading wireless communication company at the fore-front of LTE technology. The company now require extra resource in the RF design team to meet 3GPP specifications and test the overall designs of new LTE movements.

Role: RF Systems Engineer

Location: Reading

Salary: £55,000

Length: Permanent

The Role:

* Project Technical Lead of a System Design Project life Cycle from first concept to Performance Qualification.

* Hardware Design, Development & Test of LTE Modem solutions.

* RF Test & Analysis of RF performances in accordance with the LTE 3GPP Specification.

* Bring up & Debug of hardware and software Systems.

Key skills/Knowledge:

* RF integration - Hardware & Software system on various Hardware Platforms

* Hardware & RF circuit & layout Design from system level down to sub-circuits ( RF, Power Supply, Digital & Analogue )

* Some SW coding/script ( preferably python ) to support the related testing needs

* Familiar with circuit schematics and layout tools ( in PADs would be beneficial )

* Degree education within a relevant subject

Highly skilled in following areas;

* Analytical self-driven problem solver & team player

* Strong sense self-initiative & positive engineering mentality

* Well practised & appreciative of good document generation, control & quality

* Analyse & understand RF test Results at varying degrees of detail level

* " It is not just collecting the data but having the ability to make proactive assessment of it"

* Hands on Practical soldering of small SMD components down to 0201 size

Desirable Skills:

* Knowledge of advanced telecom standard is useful e.g. LTE, UMTS and/or WiMAX.

* Layer 1 Rf Driver control methodology
