Network Team Lead 

Solihull 

Salary: DOE + Extensive Benefits Package

Our team is growing, so we are on the lookout for a Network Team Lead based at our Solihull office. The Network Team Lead sits within our Managed Services Team, working within a team of 21 employees. 

The purpose of the Network Team Lead will be - 

To manage staff and lead a Network team within Managed Services supporting and developing SSP’s Network infrastructure. To assist in managing their team’s workload and backlog. As a Team Lead you will be required to play a key role in the planning and performance of major installations. 

We’d like to meet a Network Team Lead with - 

- Broad Cisco and Juniper experience in Routing, Switching, Load Balancing (F5/Radware), Firewalls, Network Applications and Protocols, Performance Tuning and Capacity Planning 

- Leadership experience in performing 1-2-1s and annual reviews and setting objectives 

- Take responsibility for all functions relating to the planning, installation, configuration and operation of our hosting networks 

As the Network Team Lead, Your Responsibilities and Accountabilities Include - 

- Staff management including perform 1-2-1s and annual reviews, involvement in objective setting. 

- Identify system configuration and/or performance irregularities. Develop procedures to respond to these irregularities in a timely manner 

- Create/maintain support documentation 

- Provide vision and strategy for SSP’s internal and hosting network 

- Responsible for all functions relating to the planning, installation, configuration and operation of our hosting network infrastructure 

- Monitor network links for performance within set thresholds 

- Ability to troubleshoot and repair network related problems with your team 

- Identify network configuration and/or performance irregularities

- Develop procedures to respond to these irregularities in a timely manner 

- Create/maintain network support documentation 

- Ensure entire network is properly monitored

- Ensure that alerts regarding network outages are addressed in a timely manner 

- Implement and support network Infrastructure 

- Maintain a high level of functionality and availability of all VPN links, routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers and WAN links 

- Document and improve existing processes and procedures 

- Serve as a technical design authority to multiple projects and business units 

- Provide technical assistance and support, either formal or informal, for more junior team members and mentor new and inexperienced team members as required 

- Monitor and delegate team support call queues ensuring that all calls fall within appropriate SLA

- To assist in release management and technical integration processes for projects 

- To investigate and solve technical problems and long-term outstanding issues for internal business units 

- Investigate new products and technologies, which have the potential to improve or enhance existing products and services. This will either be proactively or as required by the Manager 

- To undertake any other duties commensurate with the grading of the post as may be instructed by management 

- This role will be part of a team providing 24 x 7 support to SSP’s Hosting Environment
