Poole, Dorset

Our client is the charity that saves lives at sea. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Project Alignment Lead to join their Engineering & Asset Management team. This is a key role that will work across the Lifesaving and Engineering Functions to improve ways of working now and in the future.

The successful candidate will be able to bring together diverse teams to successfully deliver a number of ongoing projects between the Lifesaving and Engineering teams, reporting progress to the Stabilisation Programme Manager. These projects will make a real difference to the safe, effective and efficient working of our client’s vital lifesaving work, staff and volunteers. An essential element of this role is improvement of existing and creation of new processes, procedures and ways of working to embed sustainable improvement.

Our client’s ideal candidates will have great people skills, project management experience, the ability to analyse a wide range of problems, support others to deliver solutions, as well as the ability to deliver customer satisfaction whilst assuring quality and compliance, in a cost effective and agile way. They are looking for people who are proven leaders, effective team players, have a pragmatic approach to problem solving, and adopt a calm and when required hands on approach to manage a busy workload.

To be considered, you will need:

- Extensive experience of leadership in an environment of transformational change

- Experience of delivering turnkey plans or strategies in order to drive improvement and cultural change in a sustainable way

- Experience of leading and delivering problem solving projects and events to mitigate risks and eliminate blockers

- Experience of making difficult and unpopular decisions under pressure

- Exceptional emotional intelligence and the ability to operate comfortably at all levels with confidence and credibility

- A continuous improvement/Lean qualification, change management or project management qualification or equivalent relevant experience

- A full, valid driving licence

If you have the necessary qualities, skills and experience, and want to be part of an organisation where your efforts will help save even more lives, then it would be great to hear from you.

Our client’s staff and volunteers have been saving lives at sea without prejudice for nearly 200 years. They respect and value diversity of background, skills and perspectives within their teams, and consider it essential to help deliver a world-class lifesaving service. They are an inclusive organisation and welcome applications from everyone. In addition to having the skills needed for the role, our client also looks for applicants who share their commitment to living their values (trustworthy, courageous, selfless, and dependable), and helping work towards their goal of halving drowning in the UK and Ireland by 2024. This involves a growing commitment to preventative action, using expertise to work in partnership with communities locally, nationally and internationally to prevent drowning.

The closing date for this role is the 22nd July 2018. Interviews are scheduled for the 2nd or 3rd August 2018.
