The Marine Conservation Society is the UK’s leading charity for the protection of our seas, shores and wildlife. MCS is the voice for the sea, for all the fascinating creatures that live beneath the waves, for our breath-taking coastal environment, for all those who make a sustainable living from the sea and for everyone who simply enjoys visiting the beach and our glorious coastline.

To ensure our voice is heard we have ambitious plans to grow substantially over the coming years and we are looking for a Head of IT and Property who will ensure our IT, telecommunications and office accommodation effectively support our bold new strategy.

This is an ideal role for someone with broad technical experience who is able to develop and deliver strategic solutions. Adept at communicating effectively with non-technical colleagues you will form supportive, solution-focussed relationships with teams across MCS. As an experienced project manager, you will have the skills to deliver projects successfully and be able to confidently negotiate and manage supplier contracts and property leases.

**Key Skills**

-Previous experience of developing and delivering IT strategies

-A track-record of delivering technical projects that create results, are on time and within budgets

-Proven ability to work with a diverse and sometimes remote workforce, supporting teams through the development of the IT infrastructure policies and processes

-Excellent communication skills and a strong focus on customer service - particularly in translating technical solutions to non-technical teams

-Proven team leadership skills

-Demonstrable negotiating and influencing skills for internal stakeholders, and external suppliers for contracts and agreements

-Strategic-thinking to manage our emerging property requirements and the ability to implement plans with minimal disruption to service provision

-A confident self-starter, able to take a proactive approach when managing a varied and busy workload

We offer a great working environment, an incredible cause and the chance to make a real difference.
