Do you make promises, and keep them? It sounds simple, but in a fast-moving, ambitious and complex organisation it’s anything but!

This is the bedrock of delivering a customer-focussed IT service, and is what ensures we balance smooth day to day operations with an ambitious portfolio of transformation projects to fundamentally change how we work for the better.

Enfield’s track record is already impressive - we won the 2018 LGC award for Driving Efficiency through Technology - and our future plans are just as exciting. Our vision is for Enfield to be an exemplar of customer-focused digital public service delivery and to gain further recognition as a leader in the use of technology to support the Council’s service delivery.

Our Head of IT will have responsibility for completing and embedding a comprehensive service restructure, and for delivering our new 3-year IT and Digital Strategy, which supports both our Customer Experience Strategy and Digital Infrastructure Strategy.

You will lead over 90 employees, manage an £11m revenue budget and a capital budget exceeding £10m. Reporting to the Director of Customer Experience & Change, the Head of IT will be part of a focused management team responsible for delivering customer services, libraries, and supporting the Council’s multimillion pound transformation programme across all Council services.

Are you an expert leader and communicator, passionate about public services, and passionate about investing in and empowering staff?

You will have experience of successfully delivering complex transformation programmes and realising significant benefits for staff, customers, and organisational efficiency. You will have strong IT and digital industry knowledge and qualifications, evidence of implementing best practice processes and methodologies such as ITIL, ISO, Agile, PRINCE2 and MSP, and experience of managing successful commercial partnerships delivering maximum value for the public purse.

You may not come from a public sector background, but you will fully understand the complexity of local government, the political dimension, and the need to put public service users at the heart of everything we do.
