Java Software Engineer, Birmingham, £28,000 - £50,000, must be willing to travel

Due to an increase in project, I have an urgent need for a Java Software engineer to work out of the Birmingham office.

My client are experts in in Smart Metering, with many years experience. Your team will provide key cryptographic products and services to allow Energy suppliers to connect to the new SMETS2 UK metering DCC User Gateway. Approximately 80% of all SMETS2 Smart Meter messages will be handled VIA this client, making the product a key component of the Smart Meter roll-out in 2020.

The successful candidate be a competent Java/J2EE engineer and will be pro-active and able to identify and resolve issues. You will also have a good appreciation of design constraints/principles, that lead to maintainable code. Dependency injection techniques are also required. Ideally you will be comfortable converting technical specification documents to a plan for development.

Desirable Experience:

* Java/J2EE

* JDBC

* SQL

* WebServices (HTTP, JSON, XML)

* Continuous Integration

* Maven and TDD

For this role my client is looking to compensate the ideal Java/J2EE Engineer with a generous salary of £28,000 - £50,000 + benefits and amazing career progression opportunities over the coming years.
