Operational Risk Analyst- Process and Control Review, Financial Sector (Trading Systems), London, 4+ Months

Our Financial Client is currently carrying out a project to replace their front-to-back trading systems. As part of this project many processes and controls will be redesigned to varying degrees. In order to ensure that control standards are maintained during this change our client are seeking additional experienced temporary resource to assist with the review and challenge of proposed end-to-end processes and controls.

The role will involve:

* working closely with the Operational Risk & Compliance Manager, key business stakeholders, the Controls Group and members of the project team

* reviewing proposed processes against the control principles and good practice

* documenting discussions and following up on action points

* summarising key issues to give overall assurance to senior management

Experience

* A background in risk, audit or compliance in financial institutions

* Experience of process and control review and design

* Experience in trading systems implementations

Knowledge

* Familiarity with the key risk and control aspects of the full trade life-cycle (ie. deal input, settlement, risk management, financial reporting and reconciliation)

* Awareness of good market practice for trading activities

Skills

* Strong inter-personal skills with ability to communicate effectively at all levels

* Able to challenge proposals and recommend improvements on a reasoned basis in a positive and diplomatic manner

* Able to collate and analyse data and summarise key issues in clear language

* A proactive, self-starter who is able to take the initiative

* Well-organised with strong analytical skills and an eye for detail
