IT Project and Risk Manager

We currently have a requirement for a Project and Risk Manager to join one of our major clients based in Hendon, London.

The client are a leading government department with one of the largest IT estates in the UK supporting thousands of customers every day. As a result of growth within their Live Services department they are seeking an experience Project and Risk Manager to join the team.

The position will sit within the Live Services Service Integration Function and will involve the following responsibilities:

* Central management and embedding of Live Services risk and issue processes, to ensure that they are understood and actively managed at all levels across the teams, with clear outcomes, decisions, and responsibilities for resolution. This includes the technical risks or risks/issues associated with ITIL based processes.

* Operation and automation of the processes, ensuring that reporting requirements are clear and embedded across all Live Services teams.

* Understanding IT risks and being able to identify technical trends, underlying causes or supporting the drafting of strategic solutions in Live Service compliance issues and driving forward actions to address root causes.

* Developing guidance, communication and learning and development activities to ensure a high level of compliance of technical risk and issue management across Live Services, reporting on progress achieved against plans.

* Identifying technical risks and issues with the Live Services operation and making recommendations for improvements for consideration by the Senior Leadership Team.

* Effective co-ordination of a programme or multiple projects to achieve the corporate vision. Leading a project team, and perform liaison activities with upper management and stakeholders.

* Managing the programme or project's budget on behalf of the SRO, monitoring expenditure and costs against delivered and realised benefits as the programme progresses

As well as having a strong background in Project and Risk Management within the IT sector the candidate will also ideally have the following qualifications:

* ITIL qualifications up to Intermediate level (or if practitioner willing to undertake qualifications up to intermediate)

* Management of Risk (MoR)

* PRINCE2 or other Project Management Qualification
