For our client in Essen, Germany, we are currently looking for a Business Data Architect (m/ f) for a permanent role (FTC).

Project background

The department Asset Information Systems (AIS) is part of the central Asset Management- AIS is responsible for developing and operating a central platform to monitor and control our global fleet of Wind and Solar PV farms. The different experts are providing tools, processes and data to Operations, Asset Commercialization, Development, Finance and Asset Management to enable them to perform their day-to-day jobs.

Tasks

- Design and implementation of a system for processing of a growing set of semi-/ unstructured data from renewables assets with big data and cloud technologies

- Design data models on Hadoop HDFS, Hive and Hbase. Implement batch and stream data ingesting methods including cleaning and pre-processing

- Enable standardized and harmonized data models and processing for all renewables assets

- Implementation of algorithms for SCADA and other time series data for prediction, condition monitoring and asset operation

- Implementation of business requirements with analytical functions in Spark, Kafka and similar products for batch processing and real-time data analytics

- Support and plan integration of non-time series data like media files, text and web data

- Working together with different business units across the company to enable automated data exchange and knowledge / technology transfer

Required Skills:

- Information Technology degree

- several years experience as data scientist

- architect in the area of big data / no sql databases

- Design data models

- Degree or equivalent education in Information Technology or equivalent

- Several year experience as a data scientist and / or architect in the area of big data / no sql databases

- Ability to implement and to design systems with modern technologies like no sql databases

- Ability of coding in R, Python, Java/Scala and SQL

- Several year experience with MapReduce / Hadoop, unstructured big data analytics

- Knowledge in statistics, machine learning and data mining are welcome

- Open-minded and willing to bring in new ideas

- Passion to support business requirements with data models and processes that will be part of digital value chain

- Experience with Cloud-Hosted analytics system.

- Enjoying collaborating internationally and across cultural borders
