Duration: 6 Months

Position Description

Our client currently have an exciting and interesting position for an experienced Solution Architect looking for a varied job role and to progress their career path. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with key stakeholders within our clients IT Division and business areas ensuring the delivery of a varied portfolio of work.

Main duties:

The Senior Solution Architect will work closely with all Project team members notably the Portfolio Architect, Project Manager, Business Analyst, Developers, Testers and other Solution Architects and Solution Analysts to ensure the architecture, solution design, build and deployment delivers the right solution in line with the wider strategy and reference architectures, standards and guidelines.

As the Solution Architect, you will be responsible for delivering the required level of architecture for each piece of work and liaise with the relevant Design Authorities and Senior Stakeholders through the approval process.

Skills and Experience

Essential skills:

* Solution Architecture (specifically but not restricted to Application Architecture)

* Stakeholder Management (Senior Level)

Desirable skills:

* Java/J2EE

* Oracle

* FileNet

* Adabas/Natural

* SAS

Experience:

* Excellent solution architecture and design skills

* Large program/project involvement

* Success at leading a design team

* General insurance background would be advantageous

* Detailed knowledge of GDPR would be advantageous

Project/Workload:

Initial piece is to lead a 5-week discovery

* Reviewing the current approach to GDPR rollout for core business data (structured)

* Designing an appropriate approach going forward

* Gaining agreement from all stakeholders for the solution

Once done the role will then be to:

* Lead the Architecture Design for the GDPR programme across a number of work stream/projects ensuring delivery of the right solution(s) in line with the wider strategy and reference architectures, standards and guidelines

* Work closely with all Programme team members notably the Portfolio Architect, Project Managers, Business Analysts, Developers, Testers and other Solution Architects and Solution Analysts to ensure the architecture, solution design, build and deployment delivers the right solution in line with the wider strategy and reference architectures, standards and guidelines

* Guide the solution design team in delivering the required level of architecture and design and liaise with the relevant Design Authorities and Senior Stakeholders.
