IT Support Officer

Central London

£29,875 to £32,298 plus shift allowance

At MI5, we help to keep the country safe. Our talented teams work against ever-evolving threats, from terrorism to espionage. Our 24/7 Operations team is a huge part of our success, as they maintain the services we use to keep the country safe. As an IT Support Officer, you’ll help to do just that.

Joining a friendly and supportive team, you’ll support leading-edge strategic programmes, initiatives and applications, helping us to meet operational needs at all times. You’ll monitor our systems and diagnose issues before they impact the business - something which will see you providing additional out-of-hours support. As part of this, you’ll liaise with various teams within MI5 and offer technical advice to a range of people. You’ll also take advantage of a tailored development plan that’s completely personalised for you.

To join, you’ll need to have an IT accredited qualification or an IT Degree, or relevant experience in an IT support role. Ideally, you’ll have some knowledge of network technologies or ITIL, along with experience in a Service Desk or Microsoft Server environment. More importantly, you’ll be technically-minded and have a background of resolving IT issues. Motivated and enthusiastic, you’ll be eager to learn new skills and develop in the team. With strong communication skills, you’ll easily foster great working relationships and inspire trust in everyone you work with.

Keeping the country safe is a complex, 24-hour job. That’s why we’re dedicated to giving you a great work-life balance. Although you’ll work shifts, you’ll find there’s a wide range of support available. Plus, you’ll have the chance to train in a range of applications and gain recognised qualifications, including ITL Foundation v3 and numerous CompTIA qualifications.

We particularly welcome applications from women and Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic candidates.
