Job Description

Reporting to the BI Delivery Manager, the Data Quality Analyst provides insight into quality issues with operational source data feeding into the Enterprise Data Warehouse and BI Reports. They are responsible for supporting data quality systems and reporting needs for the business, serving as a conduit between data stewards, the business and the technical team to define, prioritise and implement data quality rules and issues.

Duties & Responsibilities

Profiling of source datasets using appropriate data quality / profiling software, including understanding data distribution, data quality issues and coding patterns.

Capture and communication of data quality issues to stakeholders, both technical and non-technical.

Define and prioritise data cleansing rules/algorithms and agree with Data Stewards before implementing using appropriate data quality software.

Work with Data Stewards and other SMEs to define requirements for data quality reporting KPIs, following through to implementation using appropriate data quality software.

Work with Data Architect to create source to target mappings from source data to standardised models, both logical and physical.

Champion data governance processes and use of data quality software across the business, including training of users and active monitoring of usage.

Skills and Experience

Strong data analysis background, including skills in data profiling and quality analysis.

Experience in working with large and complex datasets

Experience in use of data quality and profiling tools such as Ataccama and MS Data Quality Services.

Experience in scoping and analysing requirements from business users.

Good SQL skills, ideally MS SQL Server.
