SOC Manager (UK - Gloucester) (SC Cleared)

The SOC Manager will oversee and coordinate the activities of SOC personnel; implementing security assessment and incident response protocols.

The successful candidate will mentor the SOC team on technical issues and ensure that standard operating procedures are followed, across the team. The incumbent will establish and maintain metrics that will assist in guaranteeing a high level of productivity, support and operational readiness/resilience within the team.

There will also be a requirement to participate in project planning activities such as infrastructure enhancements and change management control.

Responsibilities

Provide supervision to direct reports

Develop and administer SOC processes and review their application to ensure that SOC's technology, policies, and procedures are operating effectively

Provide management oversight for the identification, triage and response to possible/live cyber security events or incidents

Produce and review aggregated performance metrics

Manage and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the SOC, making tangible business improvements; improving coordination and delivery with other parts of the organisation

Actively participate in working with the MDR clients to ensure they are happy with the service provided by the SOC

Play a leading role in the recruitment, assessment and on-boarding and training of new staff

Play a leading role in long-term SOC strategy and planning, including initiatives which strive toward operational excellence

Experience and Qualifications

Degree in Computer Science, Computer Forensics or Computer Engineering (or equivalent experience)

Relevant industry certifications such as GCIH, CREST Certified Incident Manager

Experience in building and maintaining a high performing team of analysts

Experience maintaining metrics and SLAs

Experience of implementing incident management and change management best practices

Skills

Excellent leadership and management skills

Effective verbal and written communications skills
