Datastage Technical Architect - Guildford - 3-6 Month Contract
My client, a leading financial services company are looking for a Datastage Technical Architect to join them in Guildford on a contract basis. The role has come about due to an increase in the demands on the current team and can offer a competitive daily rate.
Position Background:
* Due to an increase in demand, my client are currently on the lookout for contract Datastage Technical Architect to lead the design and development of key Datastage and Quality Stage components.
* This role will be working within their highly skilled Data Team and will be pivotal in the delivery of a key finance project.
* You will be responsible for acting as the Technical Architect for IBM Information Server (most notably Data Stage and Quality Stage)
* Working with Portfolio, Solution, Information Architects to agree and produce the IIS Architecture logical implementation
* Liaising with Technical Consultants and Information Security to ensure information server components are correctly platformed
* Providing technical architecture support to Project Management
* Production of key architecture deliverables that feed into the overall technical design (Data Stage)
* Working closely with all Programme team members to ensure the architecture, solution design, build and deployment delivers the right solution in line with the wider strategy and reference architectures, standards and guidelines
Required Skills:
* Technical Architecture and design skills using IBM Information Server (Datastage and Quality Stage)
* Hands on experience designing and using new code patterns and re-using existing code patterns (e.g. third normal form and dimensional models).
* Proven design and implementation experience for Datastage and Quality Stage Solutions in large complex programmes.
* Ideally you will also have technical exposure to:
* SAS
* MicroStrategy or other enterprise reporting tool
* Oracle
* Java/J2EE
