Role - Open Source Developer

Location - Central London

Duration - 6 months rolling

Rate - negotiable

Your future duties and responsibilities

As a JavaScript developer with us, you will work in a Scrum team, building new software applications and integrating new functionality with legacy back-end systems. You will deploy to a variety of containerized environments on local servers and in Azure using Jenkins and Ansible. Your development work will be based around TDD or BDD practices and be verified using Cucumber and Protractor. You will be expected to contribute to the daily scrum and all other scrum events, and to help coach more junior developers.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

You will need to have up to date commercial JavaScript development experience, ideally with a background in Node.js and AngularJS. You must be a self-starter who can consistently deliver high quality work.

Working closely with our clients in an agile environment your communication skills will be a key element to your role. You need to be technically sound but also be able to clearly convey your knowledge and expertise to internal and external stakeholders.

We encourage all our team to upskill their knowledge through both internal and external training.

As well as having experience and knowledge of the open source ecosystem, you should have commercial experience in some or all of the following:

*Modern JavaScript development

*Node.js and npm

*AngularJS and Bootstrap

*Mocha, Karma, and Chai

*SQL and PL/SQL

Git

Any experience of the following would also be advantageous but is not essential:

*Azure

*Docker

*GraphQL

*Cucumber, Protractor, and Gherkin

*RabbitMQ or other AMQP message brokers

*Microservice design

*Participation in an open source community project

*.NET 4, ASP.NET, VB.NET, or C#

*MVC/MVVM and other design patterns
