Financial controller - Accounts - Finance - ACA - ACCA - CIMA - IFRS - Contract - Brighton - East Sussex - 12 Months - £500 - 700 per day

Spring Technology is currently looking for a Financial Controller to join a established organisation in East Sussex. You will be responsible for overseeing the accounts department reviewing all aspects of the division's regulatory, financial and accounting reports. Risk and cost management and instil a culture change to focus on cost.. This is for an initial 12 month contract with scope to extend. The successful candidate must be ACA/ ACCA or CIMA Certified and have a background in completing similar roles within the Financial Services Sector.

?Ensure quality control over all financial transactions and IFRS financial reporting. Support the month end process and close procedures. Develop required reporting statements. Research technical accounting issues for compliance. Drive the IFRS balance sheet segmentation project

?Ensure processes for planning and re-forecasting are in place and maintained. Ensure appropriate monitoring and review processes are in place to facilitate its delivery. Provide robust monthly information pack to senior management and committees. Where necessary challenge and intervene to ensure that Mature Savings remains on track to achieve targets.

?Oversee the end to end understanding of cost to enable effective cost management. Assist with ensuring the management team is focussed on the costs for their area and assist with translation into deliverable action plans with tangible measures of success. Oversee the development / maintenance of systems for recording costs Monitor costs ensuring unsatisfactory performance is challenged; risks are identified and resolved or escalated.

?Develop and maintain robust internal financial controls and risk management framework. Review and assess possible risks evaluating the gravity of each risk by considering its consequences. Prepare reports and present recommendations. Help implement solutions and plans to mitigate the risk.

?Take the lead in all matters with regard to the management of employees, ensuring that management discretion is used in a consistent manner and that the area follows the business' policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

*ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification

Skills:

*Extensive experience as a Financial Controller in Financial Services

*Detailed knowledge of accounting principles and procedures for IFRS

*creating financial statements

*GL functions and month end / Year end close procedures
