In your new role as a Linux Development Engineer you'll be joining a rapidly developing team, which is tasked with ensuring that touch screens are a frictionless extension of their luxury brand. Your key responsibility will be to ensure that their stack's foundation, which they use to customise systems at all levels, remains up-to-date, secure, robust and flexible. To ensure this, you'll proactively validate and upstream upcoming releases to ensure compatibility.

You'll code, document, design and release according to latest industry proven software processes and create software that is modular, well documented and contains fully integrated diagnostics to minimise resolution time for reported defects. You'll also ensure the base station software meets all production quality requirements through validation testing of functionality and performance.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

You'll have detailed knowledge of Linux kernel and distributions, and demonstration proven experience of working within the Open Source community. You'll be used to integrating large-scale embedded software systems, using a number of software version control system and related tools, such as Python, Perl, or Bash to automate software build activities. You'll also need a degree in software engineering or a similar discipline.

Ideally you'll be proficient in a number of implementation languages, both procedural and object-oriented, and any knowledge of automotive processes and technologies for component delivery is highly advantageous. It will also be beneficial if you can communicate complex technical issues to a variety of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
