Phoenix Group are currently going through an exciting period of growth. Over the last two years we have acquired AXA Wealth and Sun Life, Abbey Life and recently announced our intention to acquire Standard Life Assurance and create a new strategic partnership with Standard Life Aberdeen in a £2.93bn deal. We are currently looking for an Integration Portfolio Planning Lead to work on our integration portfolio of projects and programmes, to help shape the overall group moving forward.

This exciting role can be based in either London or Birmingham and will require extensive to travel to both sites, as well as the Standard Life office in Edinburgh.

About the role

This unique opportunity within Phoenix will help successful delivery of the Phoenix integration portfolio of projects and programmes by developing the planning standards and templates, facilitating planning workshops and engendering a culture of continuous improvement across the portfolio

Working directly in support of the Head of PMO, Integration Portfolio you will:

- Develop and maintain the planning standards and disciplines required to operate a robust, yet cost effective governance and control framework across the Phoenix integration portfolio (c. £50m - £100m budget).

- Provide oversight, guidance and support to project and programme managers on plan development and plan management.

- Facilitate planning workshops as appropriate to drive identification of key milestones, the critical path, dependencies, and planning risks and assumptions.

- Support the Head of PMO, Integration Portfolio with the mobilisation of new integration programmes, working with the programme lead(s) to identify and plan all activities required through to deal completion and subsequent separation and transition, as appropriate.

- Create and maintain executive-level MI for senior internal and external stakeholders, including, but not limited to, separation and transition plans, portfolio roadmaps and milestone trackers.

What we’re looking for

- Excellent understanding of project management disciplines.

- Knowledge of governance, controls and reporting mechanisms to an auditable standard

- Expert knowledge and demonstrable experience in planning (high level vs detailed, WBS, critical path, scheduling).

- Good approach/understanding to the delivery and tracking of project benefits.

- In depth understanding and application of financial management of project costs including tracking and reporting.

- Demonstrated ability to successfully mobilise and run project/programme offices on large projects/programmes.

- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with and influence stakeholders from across the business.
