As the ability for organisations to support and develop people are getting more progressive and complex, so do the systems. Therefore, we’re looking for someone who‘s excited to help us unlock the possibilities and potential, not just with our performance management system but also our employees. You’ll have the opportunity to work at the heart of this implementation journey, to scope and influence our performance system with the business.

About the role

At Phoenix, we are committed to creating a culture and environment where everyone can contribute to the success of the business. So, the tool we use to empower our employees to take a more active role in their career development with clear, measurable goals, defined career paths and targeted development plans, is extremely important to us. We have recently embarked on the journey to implement the first stage of the performance management system, Cornerstone.

You’ll be part of the Learning & Development team in the wider HR function. Your colleagues will be predominantly L&D Consultants working with the business on using Cornerstone, and you’ll be the technical subject matter expert on this performance management system. Acting as the main point of contact for all system and process related activities and queries, you’ll be managing the configuration of the learning, performance and succession platform, including web pages.

Other responsibilities include:

- Configuration of performance tasks.

- Configuration and generation of reporting.

- Maintaining the system to allow a good user experience and is fit-for-purpose.

- Managing system releases and updates.

- Working with the provider for issue resolution.

- Being creative with graphic design - such as front layer of webpage, utilising HTML, maintain custom pages, hands on building of content management system.

- Creation of user guides for managers and end users

The team is based in our spacious Wythall office, which not only provides a first class working environment, but also a full-size sports pitch and a free on-site restaurant. Getting the right person is more important to us than a fixed location, so we’re open-minded to making this work.

What we’re looking for someone with

- HTML skills. Experience building webpages and HTML emails.

- A good level of using Excel - build macros, pivot tables, formulas.

- Configuration experience of a HR system. Cornerstone would be desirable, but not essential.

- A process-driven self-starter who likes to own their professional area of expertise, with a passion for making things better. This will suit someone who enjoys being able to work independently, and also as part of a wider team structure.

- Experience working effectively with third parties to successfully deliver projects and service.

- Excellent communication skills. As the team expert in this field, you will need to be able to articulate your analysis, recommendations and requests confidently to stakeholders at all levels, whether through written communications or face to face.

- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate technical information to non-technical audience (and vice-versa). This is a central and well-networked role in the organisation, so you’ll be working with a range of people such as HR colleagues, non-technical business stakeholders, and technical third parties.

- A focus on customer service to understand business requirements.

About the company

We value our employees highly and have been Britain's Top Employer for the last 7 consecutive years and are a member of the FTSE 250 index. We put people first in everything we do and are always looking for new professionals to join our talented team. Our funds are closed, enabling us to focus on areas that other businesses can't. This means that, among the many benefits of working at Phoenix (such as free lunches at our onsite restaurant, nature trail walk, putting green, free car parking, subsidised onsite sport facilities including gym, football & cricket pitches, tennis courts, excellent rewards schemes…we could go on!), our staff can enjoy exposure to a diverse workload not found elsewhere. We're proud of what we do, and we've recently gained recognition for our distinctive business model. We offer excellent training opportunities, career development and company culture.
