Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

* Working with commercial team to achieve sales which will include product or project scope capture, product demonstrations and product trials

* Managing the Engineering team which will include:

* Defining work packages and putting together scopes of work and proposals including costs in conjunction with the contracts team.

* Managing work priorities and ensuring deadlines are met.

* Effectively manage the team to ensure company and individual goals and objectives are met. This will include monitoring individual and team performance approving timesheets conducting regular 1:1's appraisals and monitoring development needs.

* Project management.

* Product management.

* Working with management team and the wider team to oversee manufacturing processes.

* Plan and document the programme, breaking it down into phases as appropriate, allocating resource and materials as appropriate. Monitor its overall progress, resolving issues and initiating corrective action as appropriate.

* Define product requirements and deliver product to customer requirements

* Bids and proposals compilation; ensuring that technology is integrated into wider Bids and Proposals by becoming familiar with the global business. Will 'join the dots' through understanding where capabilities can add value in other organisations.

* Set the programme budget; monitor individual staff/contractors' performance against budget, review expenditure variances and report headline figures to senior management on a weekly basis.

* Raising/authorisation of purchase orders for all programme materials and overall responsibility for liaison with suppliers.

* Ensure the delivery of new products or services from the projects is to the appropriate levels of quality, on time and within budget, in accordance with the programme plan.

* Manage the interface between other departments; lead others to ensure the most effective teamwork. Influence and create positive results through strong relationship building even in absence of managerial responsibility for all parties.

* Comply with company values and adherence to all company policy and procedures. In particular comply with the code of conduct, quality, security and occupational health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.

* In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder is required to perform other duties assigned by their manager from time-to-time, as may be reasonably required of them.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Essential:

* Degree qualified in electronics engineering or with equivalent relevant experience.

* Excellent communicator who is able to work with the immediate and wider management team and provide energy and direction to the Engineering team

* Experience in Project / Programme Management using leading methodologies and processes.

* Excellent and empathetic people leader able to get the best out of a team.

* Good technical background in 3G/4G technologies.

* Proven experience in building and maintaining customer relationships.

* Flexible, able to travel when required often at short notice.

* Highly motivated to 'get the job done'.

Desirable:

* Member of an Engineering institute such as the IET or IEEE.

* All round experience in the telecommunication engineering sector and demonstrable achievements whilst working in a 3G/4G technical environment.

* Good understating of 4G technologies and architecture.

* Experience working in both the commercial and noncommercial sectors.

* Good appreciation of reliability engineering (HALT) and successfully completed a NPI process.
