Role:PROJECT ENGINEER
The main function of our business is providing effluent treatment systems for the food industry.
There is also a secondary function involving general consulting work for water/wastewater applications.
We design buildings, tanks, underground chambers, pipelines, pump/pipework units and specialist treatment
vessels as part of providing a 'turnkey' plant. We also process design for the chemical/biological aspects
of the treatment equipment and specify the required plant control system.
The Project Engineer's role will DEVELOP to include:
Technical Drawing using AutoCAD LT2000
Site layouts, general arrangements, specialist fabrications, civil engineering works
Pump and pipework arrangements, process schematics and instrumentation diagrams
Design
Structural calculations for basic building and civil engineering works
Hydraulic calculations for sizing tanks, pumps, pipelines and drainage systems
Process calculations to determine treatment plant performance
Control logistics for PLC programmers
Standard specifications, equipment lists and sales drawings
Meeting clients (subject to Director approval) and evaluating project needs
Following-up proposals
Preparation of specifications for subcontractors and equipment suppliers
Sourcing subcontractors and equipment suppliers
Initial enquiries for pricing, including bills of quantities, schedules of rates and fixed price work
General purchasing
Discussions with subcontractors and suppliers, evaluation of quotations received
Placing orders (subject to Director approval) with relevant contract documentation
Project management
Scheduling of subcontractors, suppliers and equipment deliveries to meet project deadlines
Looking after Health & Safety documentation
Key support role to Project Manager, including attendance at client site meetings
Site supervision
Key support role to Site Manager during installation work, including weekly visits at times
Checking of work against drawings and specifications
Commissioning
