Software Engineer
An R&D product team is looking for a Software Engineer as they push towards product launch in 2019. The core programming languages are C++ and Python (not pre-requisite requirements!), implementing a range of modern frameworks and libraries in an agile environment.
The Team
The Software Engineer will be joining a dynamic team of dedicated programmers (x6) and a UX Designer, you’re your technical responsibilities tailored to your skills and career ambitions - whether back-end or full-stack. The team has demonstrated excellence in training and up-skilling since their creation in 2017, and offer an established framework of support to learn new technologies and practices.
It is desirable that the Software Engineer provides a voice in the development practices and architecture of the product, with a passion for experimentation and exploration across the development landscape. The Software Engineer will be joining a friendly, inclusive environment, and will embody the progressive culture of the software team and company as a whole.
The Product
The Software Engineer will be joining as product development moves the recent production of an MVP towards the alpha phase. The product is a web-based engineering design tool, targeted for a rapidly growing community of engineers and artists. The wider company engages in physical engineering with an incredible R&D team, with this product being their premier effort into their digital offerings.
With competitors pushing forward in a similar niche, it is essential that the product launch makes an impact on the market - so they’re looking for Software Engineers that will bring a passion and drive to create awesome features and functionality in a complex R&D space.

You…
The team is seeking a Software Engineer to come in at the same level as the majority of the team, expecting:
1-3 years’ experience in a similar role OR…
… OR a strong degree in STEM
The Software Engineer will have established programming skills, with at least one of the following:
C++
Python
C / C# / Java
And you’ll get bonus points for any frameworks & libraries around those languages.
Aside from the above experience and technologies, the Software Engineer will bring:
A friendly, enthusiastic approach to collaboration and development
A desire to learn and introduce modern technologies as required
An inquisitive and open mind
And there are a few more bonus points to earn if you can bring:
Amazing mathematical skills
Exposure to agile development
Experience with versioning tools (e.g. Git, SVN)
An ability to conceptualise in 3D environments
