Position: Network Engineer

Location: Greater Manchester

Salary: 30,000 - 45,000 per annum

Job type: Permanent

The products, services and vendors within scope for this role are:

Copper and Fibre Broadband, LLU

Ethernet, IP-VPN, QoS and VoIP

Key Responsibilities:

Participate in projects, working with designers and other engineers to create build plans, test plans, transition plans and network documentation.

Build, configure and test our networks to demonstrate that they meet the business needs in line with our engineering process.

Document the built environment and operational maintenance plans to allow safe transition to normal operations.

Deliver these changes into our live environments in line with our change management process, ensuring they have gone through an effective peer review and testing process prior to implementation.

Technical Skills:

CCNP / JNCIP or equivalent level of knowledge

Strong troubleshooting and network diagnostic skills

Experience of large scale ISP network technologies at all layers: MPLS, IPv4/IPv6, ISIS, BGP, QOS, OSPF, NAT, VLAN, STP, VRRP/HSRP, Optical networking

Experience of large scale ISP access services: Ethernet access, Broadband (BNG, L2TP, PPP), IP-VPN (L2 & L3), VoIP

Experience in the planning and implementation of IP peering and transit arrangements

You will have a background in the ISP or Telecoms industry and will be working on projects where documentation, testing and deployment make up the majority of your daily activities.

KEY SKILLS:

CCNP/JNCIP or equivalent, strong troubleshooting and network diagnostic skills,
