Systems Architect required by fast paced engineering business in Cardiff, to help encourage the company's focus on product development and direction of their technical architecture.

Your focus will be to encourage & steer software design & technical architecture, the emphasis being to look at the architecture from a technical point of view. This particular architectural role you'll be interviewed around your technical ability not leadership.

Analysing how the business will receive messages, handle messages and transfer these messages into the company database. Then extracting the information into the GUI etc.

Review current database structure and suggest how it can be optimised for reliability, efficiency (disk space, archiving etc…) and performance. Use case designs and produce full architectural design documentation. Review and suggest the use of modern tools to improve the overall system performance.

Technical Skills/Experience expected;

* Java software development (a majority of work will be done in Java).

* Architectural design (we expect design work to be available, just not on a regular basis - Being able to design from scratch will also be highly desirable).

* GUI, Delphi, OpenGL.

* PostgreSQL.
