Project Planners

HEO, Level 2

Permanent and 2 year fixed term appointments available

As a Project Planner in the Government Project Delivery Profession, you will sit at the heart of the project/programme and play a pivotal role in ensuring outcomes can be achieved.

The role of a Level 2 Planner is important because it’s your responsibility to manage a structured approach to delivery of projects and programmes at scale.

You will do this by working with the project/programme team and other stakeholders, capturing, reviewing and assessing their input into plans and schedules as the project/programme proceeds.

You’ll use appropriate scheduling and planning disciplines to provide clarity to all stakeholders on delivery progress as well as advance notice of resourcing needs, delivery problems or opportunities.

Your support will be required on all aspects of planning; including the development of business cases and the updating and monitoring of project controls e.g. delivery schedules, dependency logs, risk logs, communication plans etc.

This is why you have such an instrumental part to play in ensuring project outcomes can be achieved, with the available resources.

As a Level 2 Planner you will be assigned to projects/programmes that match your current skills, knowledge and experience.

To join us at this level you will need to demonstrate some experience of working as a Project Planner. Alternatively, you may have gained good knowledge of Project Planning in another role within a project team or PMO. Or, you may have worked as a Project Manager or work stream lead of a small project or planning experience in a non-project environment.

Project delivery in Government is transforming, and we want you to be a part of it. The need for project management excellence at the heart of public policy delivery has never been more vital.

Closing date: 15 July 2018.
