Analyst Java Developer - Asset Management - London - Contract - £400-500 p/d

Are you a Java developer who loves working with the traders and fund managers in the front office? Does solving business problems using software excite you? Then this could be the role for you!

This role is working for an asset manager who are currently one of the top 10 asset managers in the world based on Assets Under Management (AUM). They are currently looking for a Java developer to come on work on their order, booking and position keeping applications. To develop these applications, you must be able to speak to the users and come up with solutions to their requirements. They predominantly trade FX and Equites but do have some more diverse strategies, so you will require an understanding of finance and how the trading world works.

With regards to technology… The ideal candidate will have around 3 years of Java developer experience working in the Financial Services industry where you have been involved in designing and developing large scale applications. You must have developed complex applications in the past where availability and up time is very important. Systems such as order booking, order management, position keeping etc. These guys utilise the spring framework to develop tools quickly so knowledge of the different aspects of Spring will also be needed. One the database side of things they use Oracle and Sybase. Also use TDD test-driven development and CI Continuous integration using Git and Maven.

Key points

* Strong hands on Java Development experience in the financial services industry

* Strong knowledge of Spring framework

* Strong knowledge of building high performance, low latency and scalable applications

* Good knowledge of TTD and CI

* Good knowledge of executing and booking trades

* Strong exposure to dealing with users in the front offering and translating their requirements into applications
